In addition to our extensive library offering cloths from Britain and Italy’s leading mills,
Anderson & Sheppard has a long tradition of commissioning its own, exclusive house suitings and sports coatings, most iconic of which are our flannels, herringbone and fine triple pinstripe. Our tweeds draw inspiration from our archive and include Shepherd’s Checks, large windowpanes and Donegals.
Our preferred weight and quality when commissioning our house cloths is 11/12 oz and a super 130’s yarn count. It tailors wonderfully and allows for three season wear, making them excellent for all year round. Our house cloths perfectly reflect our tailoring and style ethos.
The Dumfries Glencheck 2016
This year, in celebration of our participation in the first ever Dumfries House Wool Conference, led by patron HRH Prince Charles and the Campaign for Wool, Anderson & Sheppard collaborated with Scottish mill, Johnstons of Elgin to produce our exclusive length of Glencheck cloth. Woven in extra fine merino wool to an 11oz weigh, the worsted cloths works equally well as a sports jacket or three piece suit. The mid blue ground combined with a claret overcheck has a vintage yet contemporary feel that works well both in town and country.
